We are off to Chicago for a few days to visit our good friends, Sarah and EJ. I have only visited the city once many years ago but Kyle has never been! Deep dish pizza is on the top of our list and of course, the Bean...hope you have a nice weekend!
Yesterday was our 11 year dating anniversary...I know I shouldn't be still counting but I can't help it. There's just something romantic about the fact that we had our first kiss ever on this day 11 years ago. I still tease Kyle because I had to be the one to ask for it, as he was dropping me off in front of my dorm. If you know Kyle, you know that he doesn't get nervous very often...but he was! That and the day he proposed were the only times I've ever seen him so flustered. It was pretty cute:) As you can see, we celebrated to the max last night with fast food and a trip to Petsmart. Pancho cracks me up...he's such a ham sometimes, always ready for the camera!
Since both my sister and my cousin from Taiwan were in town this past weekend,we decided to drive over to Dallas for some Sprinkles cupcakes. But once we got there, we noticed they had a NEW ice cream shop(!!!)...so of course we changed our minds immediately. I tried the salty caramel ice cream with chocolate sprinkles on a vanilla waffle cone...while they had the cap'n crunch and rocky road. Pretty tasty but I have to say, I still prefer their cupcakes...maybe next time I'll go all out and order a cupcake topper for my ice cream;)
You can never go wrong with tacos, especially on a hot and lazy Sunday afternoon...we love going to Torchy's because their tacos are tasty, the guacamole is fresh, but most importantly we can bring Pancho! The last few times we've been there, we were able to grab the same table in the corner, underneath the cool misters. It also helps that Kyle likes to feed Pancho ice cubes under the table the entire time...definitely worth dealing with the brutal Texas heat, in our humble opinion:)
Well, I've officially found my dream pair of earrings...they are absolute perfection in every way. I've always loved Pamela Love's southwestern inspired aesthetic but I have yet to own any of her pieces. Maybe these will be the first??? P.S. These silver spikes are pretty rad too.
Haha, my head is still spinning from this week, how about you?:) But I'm super excited for the long weekend and for some much needed r&r. We plan on watching this movie tonight (love Simon Pegg) and grilling some hatch chile burgers at home tomorrow...hope you all have a nice weekend!
My good friend, Kristin (far right), who was also my potluck roommate freshman year turned roommate for all 4 years was in town from Spain! We drove to Austin for the weekend and hung out with our other friend/college roomie, Runi, and shopped and ate to our hearts' content. It felt so good being back in our old 'hood together again...
I've been on a green juice kick lately so we found a local place where I ordered a broccoli, spinach, and banana smoothie. It was so delicious!
Shopping for clothes on South Congress...so very Austin:) Here I am trying on a pair of faux leather shorts and looking like I was ready to go out clubbing afterwards haha. Can you believe I actually bought them??? Oh boy...
Seriously, the best brussels sprouts I've ever eaten (from one of my favorite restaurants too). Maybe the best thing I've eaten so far this year and I don't even like brussels sprouts.
So happy I got to see this girl and catch up, even if it was only for a few days. Living on different continents can be challenging when it comes to keeping in touch and I miss her all the time...but I'm very thankful she's only a Skype chat away, pending time zone differences:) Love ya! xx
